We defend your right to ride your local Alberta single-track trails.

Since 2004, Rocky Mountain Dirt Riders Association has been working to take care of our local Alberta trail systems. Whether you’re an experienced rider or new to the sport, we welcome you! Come connect with the land and our community. Become a member and help us all continue doing what we love. Together, we’re dedicated to Land Advocacy, making sure that our trails stay open and safe for generations to come. We make the greatest impact with our volunteers through trail maintenance.

Part of riding safe means riding in numbers and that’s why we host member Club Nights and social events that connect you with other riders.

Without public land access, we have nowhere to ride.

Riders rely on land access to keep doing what we love. The RMDRA takes pride in Land Advocacy and fighting for our right to ride Alberta’s recreational areas. Our goal is to keep our trails open, safe and sustainable for future generations. To accomplish this goal, we have to consider competing user groups on public land and work closely in partnership with Alberta’s Environment and Parks ministry.

Volunteers keep our single-track wheels turning.

We rely on the generosity of our member volunteers to help move mountains, and we support them through training events so we can work safely out on the trails together. There are plenty of jobs that don’t involve getting your hands dirty out on the trails so connect in other ways to help out.

Save your local riding area by becoming a member.

Strengthening support for Rocky Mountain Dirt Riders Association provides more leverage to keep our recreational areas open for each and every one of us. If everyone who currently rides single track in the popular designated areas of McLean Creek and Ghost-Waiparous joined Rocky Mountain Dirt Riders Association, we’d have more strength in numbers. Our membership numbers influence how much funding we have access to and the impact we are able to have each year.

Join over 600 riders supporting our local riding trails.

We’re invested in trail maintenance that supports all single-track riders, through an official partnership agreement with Alberta Environment and Park (AEP) and always ensure we have an approved safety plan in place. It’s actually illegal to take initiative and embark on a mission to do trail improvements on your own. Although we receive some funding through Provincial Grants to undertake trail initiatives, the more members we have, the more funding that is available to support our trail improvement projects.

Membership Forum, Trail Maintenance, Club Nights, campouts and races strengthen our community.

Our events are designed for fun and helping our members grow as riders, no matter your skill level. Your membership gets you access to all Club Night rides, campouts and trail maintenance days. Races do cost extra and you’ll need a current AMSA Off-road license for each event. The pressure of our annual Dirty Moose race isn’t for everyone, but attending the event is for everyone. Come out and watch.
