 MEMBER TESTIMONIALS

When I first came to the RMDRA, it was because I was looking for people to ride with. I enjoyed riding with like-minded individuals on the Wednesday Club Nights, and it quickly built up my confidence and ability to increase my speed in the ever-challenging single track. The members were really friendly, and soon after I had some friends to ride with on the weekends as well. Volunteering at fundraising events was rewarding, and I felt like I was a part of something bigger. You don't have to be a racer to join this club, and all skill levels are welcome. I was impressed with the organization level of all the volunteers, so much so that I decided to volunteer myself for trail maintenance days. After a few years I decided jump in and become the Membership Director—I knew that becoming a volunteer would make the largest impact. It’s been so fulfilling to get involved and make a difference.

I got involved back in 2004, before Rocky Mountain Dirt Riders was an official association. The club had just been formed, so it became a great opportunity to meet new people and get experience. I had just bought a motorcycle after years of not having one, not since I was a kid. I wanted to get back into the sport, but didn’t really know anybody and didn’t have anyone to ride with. I was also looking to get into the racing scene, and there was a bit of opportunity for mentorship on that. It’s a great opportunity for people to build their personal networks with a likeminded community. It’s also an opportunity for people to learn from each other in so many ways. Club’s done a great job to welcome families and all skill levels. It’s a great way to raise a community and bring everyone together.
