Keeping our trails accessible is a top priority.

Maintaining quality single-track trail systems is part of our mandate.

Our club is passionate about ensuring we respect our public land so we can continue using it. Check our events page and shop or join our mailing list for upcoming Trail Maintenance Days.

How that came about was, when I created the trail system for the government, 60 single-track trails at MacLean, I also offered to name all the trails for simplicity. But, the government didn’t want that at all because they wanted continuity across the province, and they use numbers at every intersection. There is no name or number for a trail, just the numbered intersections which is extremely confusing. So, when we were trying to put together guided rides for members, or especially doing trail maintenance and whatnot, we just decided that I would do a trail map just for the club. We did our own separate map with trail names on everything, and that was a perk you got when you got a membership.

I first found out about the RMDRA with my boys. We were out riding at McLean Creek at a meeting point where a bunch of trails come together, and down out of the bush where you wouldn’t even know there was a trail, we heard all these bikes coming through. My boys were quite young, and these guys came down and a few even pulled up to talk with us. Everyone else got off their bikes and picked up garbage. I watched the reaction on my boys’ faces, and they were completely blown away. They’d never seen riders do that. They were like, ‘We’ve got to join!’ I saw how important it was to the boys to see other people get off their bikes, clean up messes that weren’t even theirs without being told. They stuffed garbage in their backpacks and off they went.
